The Cabildo of Tenerife have invested €3.7 million to fight back against the invasive cat’s tail plant as well as others. The initiative is putting the protection of the island’s biodiversity first. Cat’s tail is being targeted specifically for being particularly aggressive; more than 44 tons have been removed in the past few years already.

El Cabildo de Tenerife ha invertido 3,7 millones de euros para combatir la invasiva planta cola de gato, entre otras. La iniciativa da prioridad a la protección de la biodiversidad de la isla. La cola de gato es objeto de una acción específica por su carácter especialmente agresivo; en los últimos años ya se han eliminado más de 44 toneladas.
