Hawiian eruptive behaviour creates lava flows and an ash plume whilst seismic activity drops

Since 12 noon yesterday (25th September 2021), 4 earthquakes with magnitudes 2.3 and 2.6 (mbLg) and depths between 8 and 13km have been located at the base of the intrusion that preceded the volcanic eruption. The amplitude of the volcanic tremor at low frequencies (0.5-0.7Hz) have decreased considerably in all the stations of the island as of 12:00 yesterday (IGN, 2021). Two main active lava flows, the southern most was 2.5 km long (GVP, 2021).
