Continued observation of geological activity as La Palma government organises the return or relocation of the population and reduction of the exclusion zone around the eruptive centre

Since the last communication (Jan 7th Dec 9:00 UTC) 30 earthquakes have been located on the island of La Palma, one felt by the population with intensity II. The magnitudes are between 1.0 and 2.6 (mbLg). 19 earthquakes have been located at depths between 7 and 16 km, 9 at a depth of less than 5 km and 2 at a depth of 35 km (IGN, 2022).
