PEVOLCA holds a meeting with residents explaining the potential risks of the new lava flows

Earthquake magnitudes, intensity, and quantity increase and deflation of the eruptive centre is observed.

The main objective of the meeting was to explain to the population, what is the real situation is in both municipalities after the eruption, and clarify any doubts. The Steering Committee assured the residents that they will continuously monitor the new lava flows. The technical director of PEVOLCA, Miguel Ángel Morcuende, stated that there are no parameters that indicate that a new eruptive center might appear outside the cone environment (Gobierno de Canarias, 2021).
