Ash plume climbs rapidly as phreatomagmatic activity increases.
Sulphur dioxide and PM10 particles being exceeded in the western area, forcing the suspension of face-to-face classes in the municipalities of Los Llanos de Aridane, El Paso, Tazacorte, Puntagorda and Tijarafe (Gobierno de Canarias, 2021). Ash drifting W and SW from Tajogaite has caused some flight disruptions at the La Palma airport (GVP, 2021).
