Geochemist at The Volcanology Institute of The Canary Islands (INVOLCAN)
Dr Padrón is an expert in soil carbon dioxide efflux emissions. He has worked on gas geochemistry on some of the world’s largest and most dangerous volcanoes, particularly in Nicaragua, Costa Rica and El Salvador.
His particular interest is the study of Cumbre Vieja. This volcano accounts for a large portion of La Palma Island, where he spends a great deal of time. He has published several studies related to volcano efflux emissions, and is an expert in mass spectrometry.
