Phreatomagic activity is reduced and strombolian activity continues.

Since the last statement, 123 earthquakes have been located in the area. 11 of these earthquakes have been felt by the population, including an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.0 mbLg at 35 km depth. This earthquake is the largest since the beginning of the eruption. Six earthquakes have been located at depths of around 30 km, the rest of the hypocenters of the period are located at a shallower depth, around 12 km. The amplitude of the volcanic tremor signal is maintained at medium-high levels, with intensifying pulses. At the more distant stations, the slight deflation possibly related to deep seismicity appears to decelerate. Using a calibrated image, a column height of 4,000 m is estimated by IGN at 7:45 UTC (IGN, 2021). On the 29th of October a series of loud explosions generated a large amount of ash which impacted the West and parts of the North west of the island. Lava that had travelled along the southern margins of the lava flow field advanced over new ground, in west and south west directions, after overflowing a channel (GVP, 2021).

This video taken on the 30th of October shows a shock wave produced at the eruptive centre. Sourced from IGME (2021).
