Hawiian eruptive behaviour creates lava flows and an ash plume whilst seismic activity drops

Since the beginning of the eruption, on Sunday, September 19th 2021 (16:10 UTC), a total of 52 earthquakes have been located, of which at least 1 has been felt by the population with a maximum intensity III. The deformation of the topography has remained stable in recent days at a 22 cm vertical displacement (IGN, 2021). Since yesterday there has been a significant increase in ash emission. Tremor amplitude decreased around noon on 25 September, along with the intensity of the Strombolian explosions (GVP, 2021).

This video shows drone footage, from the 25th of September, of the eruption centre which is emitting pyroclastic material in a Hawaiian eruptive behaviour. The video also shows a lava flow flowing on the western sector of the volcano. Sourced from IGME (2021).
