Phreatomagic activity is reduced and strombolian activity continues.

Since the last statement, 136 earthquakes have been located in the area. 10 of these earthquakes have been felt by the population, reaching the maximum intensity at 17:52 (UTC) today, with a magnitude 5.0 mbLg with a hypocentre depth of 38 km depth. Six earthquakes have been located at depths of around 30 km, the rest of the hypocenters of the period are located at a shallower depth, around 12 km. The amplitude of the volcanic tremor signal is maintained at medium-high levels, with intensifying pulses. The island’s network of permanent GNSS stations does not show a clear trend in the deformation of the stations closest to the eruptive centres, while in the stations further away a slight deflation is maintained, possibly related to deep seismicity. Yesterday, October 31st at 14:40 UTC, due to the decrease in height of the eruptive column, the IGN issued a new VONA informing that the maximum height of the eruptive column was 3500 m above sea level today, an ash cloud of 3,000 m with north-northwest direction is estimated at 08:45 UTC (IGN, 2021). Lava that had travelled along the southern margins of the lava flow field continued to advanced over new ground towards LP-211 road, but its advancement rate has slowed (GVP, 2021).

This video taken on the 1st of November shows the reestablishment of strombolian eruptive behaviour at a previously inactive vent. Sourced from IGME (2021).
