Phreatomagic activity is reduced and strombolian activity continues.

Since the last statement, 83 earthquakes have been located in the area. Four earthquakes have been located at depths of around 30 km, the rest of the hypocenters of the period are located at a shallower depth, around 12 km. The amplitude of the volcanic tremor signal is maintained at medium-high levels, with intensifying pulses. The island’s network of permanent GNSS stations shows a slight deformation towards the southwest at station LP03, which is the closest to the eruptive centers. At the most remote stations, a slight deflation is maintained, possibly related to deep seismicity. Yesterday, October 30th at 19:05 UTC, due to the increase in the height of the volcanic ash cloud, the IGN issued a new VONA communicating that said the height had reached 5,000 m above the level of the sea (IGN, 2021). Large explosions and a shock wave were observed today, this co-incided with an increased effusion rate at the North-West flank vent (GVP, 2021).

This video taken on the 31st of October shows a lava flow emitted from a higher vent enters a lava tube drain. Sourced from IGME (2021).
