The La Palma Eruption and Reconstruction Project

La Palma project by GeoTenerife is a multi-media project which aims to increase the awareness and understanding of volcanic activity, volcanic emergency plans, and reconstruction in La Palma. Our self-funded research on La Palma has led to our award-winning documentaries “Lava Bombs: Truths Behind the Volcano” and “Lava Bombs 2: The Reconstruction”. Our work is open access, in non-specialist language, and resident-focused.

Volcán de Tajogaite (2021) Eruption and Reconstruction

GeoTenerife aims to tell the unheard human stories of the people affected by the 2021 eruption of the Volcán de Tajogaite, La Palma.  Through our collaboration with Alexander Whittle of New Light Studio, GeoTenerife has produced two documentaries LAVA BOMBS: Truths Behind the Volcano and LAVA BOMBS 2: The Reconstruction.

The 2021 Tajogaite eruption was the largest and most destructive eruption in La Palma for the last 500 years. It caused around €1 billion in damage, displacing over 7,000 people, and destroying 3,000 buildings, 2,000 of which were people’s homes. Here are some of VolcanoStories helpful summary videos:

A collection of interviews with witnesses of the 2021 La Palma Eruption, conducted by GeoTenerife. These interviews were later used in the Lava Bombs: The Truth Behind the Volcano documentary.

To help put the science in context and counter sensationalism GeoTenerife was involved in social media live streams and news interviews with local, national and international media outlets during the volcanic eruption of La Palma. Here are the playlists which document our work.

RSVSR Tips for After Rain Comes in Arc Raiders Repair Solar Panels Fast

After you wrap up Shani's "Eyes in the Sky," Celeste throws you straight into "After Rain Comes," and it's the kind of job that punishes anyone who deploys on autopilot. Before you even queue, take a minute to think about your loadout and stash choices, because this mission isn't a "wing it and loot on the way out" deal. I always treat it like a checklist run, the same way I plan around ARC Raiders Items when I know a quest wants specific components.

What to Pack Before You Drop

You need five wires and two batteries in your inventory when you hit the objective. Yes, you can try to scrounge them mid-raid, but you'll burn time and take fights you didn't need. The smarter play is prepping in advance: search server cabinets, old office terminals, and any tech-looking storage you'd normally ignore. If RNG's being rude, recycling back at base usually bails you out—power cables, busted appliances, chunky electronics, that kind of junk. And don't be casual about it: stash those quest pieces in your safepocket so one bad peek doesn't delete your whole run.

Finding the Solar Panels in Buried City

Load into Buried City and make for the Grandioso Apartments area. You're aiming for the eastern side, near the big pond that sits toward the southwest portion of the map. It sounds messy on paper, but in practice you'll know you're close when the terrain opens up and those oversized solar panels start dominating the skyline. They're hard to miss. Underneath them is a bright yellow electrical box, and that's your interaction point. Walk up, check you've still got all five wires and both batteries, then take the prompt and start the repair.

How Not to Get Deleted While Repairing

This is the awkward bit: you're exposed, you're stationary, and the animation makes you feel like you've got a target painted on your back. Clear your angles first. Listen for footsteps and distant bursts, because people love rotating through open lanes near landmark objectives. If you've got a teammate, have them hold the wide side while you face the close cover; if you're solo, don't be afraid to wait ten seconds for a quieter moment. Once the box is fixed, don't linger—cut away fast, reset your route, and extract like you're carrying something valuable.

Rewards, Progress, and the Real Reason to Do It

The payout isn't going to make you rich: expect things like blue light sticks, durable cloth, and a few antiseptics. The real win is progress, plus the zipline you get just for picking up the quest, which helps a ton in Buried City's vertical mess. Knock it out clean, keep your quest parts protected, and if you're the type who wants to streamline future runs, it's worth checking where to buy ARC Raiders weapons so your next drop feels less like a gamble and more like a plan.
