Earthquake magnitudes, intensity, and quantity increase and deflation of the eruptive centre is observed.

Since the last statement, 66 earthquakes have been located in the area, and 4 were felt by the population. The largest intensity felt was due to an earthquake that occurred at 07:02 UTC today, with a magnitude 4.5 (mbLg) at 36 km depth. A total of 28 earthquakes have been located at depths around 30 km, the rest of the hypocenters of the period are located at a shallower depth, around 10 km. The volcanic tremor signal maintains a high mean amplitude, with no intensification pulses. The height of the scattering cloud measured at 08:00 UTC is estimated to be 4,000 m. GNSS Stations show that the south-southwest deformation is reversing (IGN, 2021). A vent located 300 m from the South East base of the main cone reactivated today, this generated phreatomagmatuc activity and gas-ash emissions. At this time increased phreatomagmatic behaviour was observed at the main cone (GVP, 2021).

This video taken on the 15th of October shows visual and thermal data of the new river delta. Steam can be seen escaping along the margins where the rock meets the sea. Sourced from IGME (2021).
